Brooke's zines are amazing; her mini accordion art books are beautiful. Whether inspired by her boyfriend's science textbooks, a parisian road atlas or thrift store finds they are crafted so wonderfully I cannot help but fall in love with them.

Born from a love of inanimate objects, the thought that perhaps they lead secret lives when nobody is looking and the inspiration from watching Canadian television shorts.

Fantastic ethereal imagery.

This A5 full colour zine is based on relationships, break ups and "get-back-togethers".

A 32 page, staple bound, hand numbered edition of only 40 with a gorgeous gold screen printed cover featuring macabre drawings. Having a curious fascination with death and finding imagery surrounding the subject irresistible, this zine quickly won me over with its dark subject matter.

I cannot express how much I would like to own a vintage letterpress drawer, I think they are wonderful and would make a lovely display for a stall at a fair.
My grandmother's table (on which I take most of my photographs) was close to being scrapped after plans to redecorate the kitchen. I felt terrible about a gorgeous, weathered table having such an uncertain future. My idea is to upcycle the table into a letterpress drawer I can use at fairs; luckily my father is a skilled carpenter and I feel much better knowing a part of my grandmother's life, the lady who taught me almost everything I know about handmade crafts, will be travelling with me.

Unfortunately my computer suddenly stopped working yesterday.. the lack of a computer does not bother me so much as the immense amount of resources that have gone with it. You may (or may not) have noticed I have had to temporarily shut the shop. (Of course, any outstanding orders will be sent out.)
I thought this might be for a couple of days although I am now considering keeping it closed until January. Since I have lost all the templates for most of my original designs and what with it being Christmas, it seems to be the perfect opportunity to have a short break in preparation for the New Year.
Fortunately with the loss of a computer I find I have gained plenty more time to be creative.
I wanted to add a little something extra to the blog; I have recently purchased some amazing zines and thought I would share my little discoveries with you.

Minifanfan's first A5 sized zine is printed in full colour and features 16 pages inspired by Jack Johnson (apparently). I am a MASSIVE fan of Minifanfan, I simply cannot get enough of her absolutely wonderful illustrations.

A zine filled with with various graphs depicting "things that happen but don't matter" (and everything else, of course). In each copy there is a unique graph hand-drawn specifically for that zine only.

This free newspaper is a compilation of short stories by a selection of authors, chronicling the last decade. It has been quite a while since I even attempted to read French (I do wish I'd kept my up my French language skills) so reading through this is slow (and rather hard) work for me.. Regardless the stories are lovely and the illustrations are wonderful; well worth a read.. if you can manage to get your hands on a copy that is!

A collaboration zine from the art students of Hull featuring themed artwork; created and edited by Abigail Nottingham. Issue four's theme is "characters" and in particular the work of James Fenwick really appealed to me.

A hand-stitched, 12 page, full colour mini-zine filled with hand-drawn typography and patterns.
If you have made a zine (or know of an incredible one I simply must own!) and you would like to see it featured, I'm welcoming submissions - e-mail me and/or leave a comment. Anyone who submits a zine will receive a little something in return as a thank you ♥
